I could see them eating and drinking beer, but I couldn't get to them. I tried to get around the fence on a dirt track that had seen some traffic, but I ended up on a bunch of sand whoops. I finally backtracked to the highway and went up to the entrance proper where I found this reassuring sign. The map indicated the track I was on is the "Obstacle Course". I also wandered thru the sand drags trying to find my way.
I took backroads over to the E.WaAdvrider Fest. This is a map showing Dalles Mt
Road between SR14 near Dallesport and Goldendale. It is a great gravel road and
very scenic. I recommend it over jetting up to Biggs and taking 97...
This was taken looking West, down Dalles Mt Road, just below the summit(at
O'Brien Road)
This was taken dropping back down the North slopes of Dalles MtRoad. On the left
you can see Mt.Adams
After a very short hop on I-97 I turned Right onto Hoctor Road(this road has
several names depending on which map you look at. I believe the signs call it
Hoctor Rd and Goodnoe Hills Rd.).
This is long and straight and paved at the West end, becoming oiled as it crests
the hill near the Wind Mill Farm at the East end. Well, it shoild be oiled by
now. It was freshly graded gravel when I went thru'...
I pulled off to get a picture of the wind turbines and promptly got stuck. The
shoulder was steep and very loose. I had to roll back and then loop cross
country thru the field to get a run at it and bounced back up to the road.
