Hi Ken,
I am often asked if completion of the Adventure Sidecar S/TEP class here in Oregon will qualify Washington residents for the WA three wheeled drivers license endorsement. The answer to that seems to vary with who you talk to at DOL. My understanding is Washington does not waive testing for Washington residents taking the class in Oregon.
Although Evergreen Safety Council, the provider of these classes in Washington, provides the materials and issues the completion cards for the Adventure Sidecar S/TEP classes and the course is exactly the same as it is in Washington, the last official word I heard is our class does not qualify you for a waiver of the Washington driving test. You will still need to take the test at your local DOL.
The test we use is the same and if you successfully complete our class, you should have no trouble at all passing their test!

Taking the novice S/TEP class was an experience I will never forget. I loved every minute of it. Being a true beginner, I was apprehensive about taking on the learning of new skills at nearly 60 years of age. But, I can honestly say that I am capable of driving our new Ural rig safely and confidently thanks to Vernon and Monica. I know that teaching adults with a variety of experience and skill is not an easy task. They met the challenge with tireless enthusiasm, professional integrity, and unending patience. (If you check the photos, you’ll see me wearing a black and white jacket. And you’ll also see me flying the car!!!)

I live in Washington state. Successful completion of the Evergreen Safety Council’s three-wheeler course here qualifies you to get the license endorsement without taking any tests. My question is: Since you are located in Oregon, does this course count that way in Washington? Your course looks so much more interesting than the parking lot of the community college where the classes are held here in Seattle.
