Riding with Camas Jack
I left my place about 830-sunny, cool, 28F. Hit fog at Cascade Locks, crossed over to Washington and was in dense nasty fog the rest of the way down the gorge. I met Jack & the gang at Camas Airstrip-it was still pretty foggy
We passed through Jones Creek OHV park
Camas pointed out Silver Star in the distance. There appears to be a road there but it has eluded Jack so far...
This was just the ride to THE ride!
We stopped at Sunset Falls to reconoiter. And then the ride began...
We headed up FS41
The vistas were spectacular!
Camas Jack
....the intrepid Ottertracks & Exspinner
we all headed off towards the saddle at Little Lookout Mountain, Just to the right of Mt Adams in the upper left of this photo
We
climbed towards the top of the ridge, Approaching 4000'. The world dropped away
at our feet!

It was late by the time we reached Cougar Rock.
After a photo op and a snack, Jack lead the group west, home down FS 42. I headed east and took Bear Creek Road to Willard and went home on the Cook Underwood Road
8 1/2 hours, 168
miles round trip. A good day!
