Year Book Photos Photographs taken at our recent Adventure Sidecar S/TEP classes

Black Dog Riders Vernon Wade, Kerry Sherrel and Christina Shinn wore big smiles and rain jackets during their participation in the recent 2005 Black Dog Dualsport Rally.  more...

A Three Legged Dog:   I caught the Dualsport Rally bug in 2001. I did the Rat Dog that year and did the Black Dog in 2002. If you were at those events, you probably saw me. I was on the red Triumph Tiger with the sidecar. Maybe you were a little curious about my ride.    Sidecars are an oddity amongst the general motorcycling population and they are a down right rarity at dualsport events. That’s too bad because dual sporting is a niche sidecars fill particularly well.   more...

The Scaredy Cat was lots of fun; about 35 entrants, mostly big BMW GS, KTM and VStrom dualsport bikes. Amy and I had the only sidecar.

January 1, 2005

Amy suggested we go for a ride today, so I called our friend Vince. He agreed to ride over the ridge from Mosier and we would ride back to his house together for a little sushi.

May 7, 2003

When I found Horn Rapids ORV park Friday evening I missed the entrance to the campground. Somehow I ended up on the wrong side of a locked gate.

May 25, 2002

I dawdled about getting my bike bolted back together after welding up the broken frame. The weather was unsettled and Amy was undecided about going with. Consequently it was 3:30 pm Saturday before I actually left home, taking Babe the Dawg with me. Babe isn't as good of traveling companion as my wife; she doesn't set up the tent and her kisses are kind of sloppy. But she loves to ride and never complains (tho' powerslides at speed over washboard roads are low on her list of things to do)....

Picture from ridge above my house last January

I will make a token ride New Years Day.  Leave Hood River around NOON am and Loop up the Old Dalles Road, over Huskey and drop off the ridge back down to my house on Neal Creek Road. Set off a bonfire once I get home too warm up. Dirt or snow roads, probably go up to near 3000' depending on the snow situation. May bail to Eastside Road and home for fire and hot drinks if it is storming.
