We took a rather indirect route, starting out over the ridge behind the house, dropping down to Pinemont road, South up Surveyor's Ridge and left into the maze of old tracks that eventually hook up with Ketchum road East over Lubbing Flat and down Chenoweth Canyon into The Dalles.
The West end of the route to Ketchum Road can be difficult to locate... this
junction of 1711,620 and 640 is the easiest one for me to find, tho I think
there is a quicker or more direct route from Neal Creek- I just haven't found it
yet!

Baby Dawg was anxious to get rolling. Stopping for pictures kinda pissed her
off, but I had the keys.
...as expected, the road soon deteriorated...
... and the trees closed in around us
we bombed thru several mud holes without problems. This was the deepest. I was a
little surprised when my footpegs submerged...
The first leg of my route went as planned: we successfully crossed Lubbing Flat, dropped off the plateau at Chenoweth, traversed The Dalles thru the Old Fort District and crossed The Dalles Bridge over Columbia River into Washington. From there we picked up Dalles Mountain Road at 5:40 pm, crossed the ridge and headed North thru Centerville and the ranch lands beyond...
6:00 pm we were at the summit of Dalles Mt. Took A short break to take water and
make water
North of Centerville we came across an Ostrich. Sorry the photo is blurry, but
all parties involved were somewhat startled...
at 7:03 we arrived at the junction of Cedar Valley and Monument Road, finding
the first marker. A marble slab had been erected by the Washington Historical
Society, indicating the murder site of AJ Bolon would be found 4 and 1/14th
miles to the NE.
