Just
before Bingen we headed back across the Hood River toll bridge into Oregon
The
toll bridge can be quite unnerving on a solo bike. It’s not so bad
on a sidecar. Suspended a hundred feet above the icy water, it is like
riding across a giant cheese grater in a crosswind. The steel grate
throws the bike around and the center span is a smaller grate that feels greasy. You don’t get your moneys worth if you don’t look down.
We all got across unscathed, looking back on another wonderful ride
though the Columbia Gorge.
