Equipment

  • pie iron

Ingredients
  

  • 1 handful ground sausage formed into 5 small patties and pre-cooked
  • 1 12oz. tube of counterwop biscuit dough (10 biscuits)
  • 1 small jar gravy Sausage gravy would be ideal. I used turkey gravy
  • 1/4 cup butter or oil

Instructions
 

  • form sausage into small patties and pre-cook
  • wet a cutting board with cold water and smash rounds of counterwop dough into thin discs
  • pre-heat and butter pie iron
  • sandwich the sausage and gravy in the preheated, buttered pie iron. Place the iron on the coals for a few minutes before flipping it to heat the other side. Repeat this several times over the course of five minutes or so. Open the iron occasionally to check the progress and renew the coals if they start to cool.
