Good Morning

The Writer, Vernon Wade

Vernon Wade is a poet, author and freelancer. He has been published in The Gorge Literary Journal, Dualsport Rider Magazine, Hack’d Magazine, The Sidecarist, ROB Magazine and The Hood River News.

The world fills him with wonder.  When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

We were promised rain but it has not yet materialized.

The sun is above the ridge and shining through broken cloud cover. Southwest winds aloft,  no breeze on the ground.

My pumpkins are still setting fruit. A vine has climbed the blackberry arbor; a single yellow blossom sits like a crown atop the briars.

The jays are squawking and Walter is barking at some threat only he can discern.

A jet rumbles overhead and fades away.

Good morning.
