Good Morning

The Writer, Vernon Wade

Vernon Wade is a poet, author and freelancer. He has been published in The Gorge Literary Journal, Dualsport Rider Magazine, Hack’d Magazine, The Sidecarist, ROB Magazine and The Hood River News.

The world fills him with wonder.  When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

Dry, and calm. A multitude of stars winks between the broken clouds.

The waning crescent moon floats in the east, just beginning its transit.

Walter is patrolling the perimeter,  barking out the occasional  challenge.

“Who goes there? What’s the password? Good morning.”

6:34 Wow! Something  large just crashed next door at Schaefer’s.  It sounded like a roof collapsing or a tree coming down. It’s still pretty dark out. I don’t hear any human activity or sounds of distress. In fact it is all quiet again.  I presume everyone is OK over there.

7:00 I  took a walk about.  Everything looks okay over there.

Mole was up looking around.  She didn’t know what it was either,  but said everyone was alright.

If a tree falls in the darkness and nobody sees  it….
