The world fills him with wonder. When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

Partially cloudy, cool, calm, with thick fog in the canyon.
There was a brief flash of brilliant color as the sun was about to crest the ridge, then it darkened, the sky turned gray and the fog closed in around me.
A lonely goose is honking, looking for its companions.
A few squawks and chirps, the dog barking, the rooster’s crow, punctuate an otherwise muted Sunday morning.
