Good Morning

The Writer, Vernon Wade

Vernon Wade is a poet, author and freelancer. He has been published in The Gorge Literary Journal, Dualsport Rider Magazine, Hack’d Magazine, The Sidecarist, ROB Magazine and The Hood River News.

The world fills him with wonder.  When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

 

 

3/15/26 5:30 22F (-5.5C) Dark, calm, and cold.

The city lights and a thin, hazy overcast hide the stars.

Andy and Susan are still sleeping.  Dave, Kel, and Mom went home yesterday,  after Gail’s service.

It has been  a bittersweet visit. Gail’s loss hit this side of the family hard and I share thier sorrow.

I rarely see these relatives, but I love them dearly.  They are good people.  To visit and break bread with them is a deep joy.  To see them cry and share thier tears hurts, yet the ache contains some hidden comfort.

We leave for home today after visiting  relatives from the other side of the family.
