The world fills him with wonder. When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

We got some rain overnight and there was still a hint of mist when I came out. Not much, but perhaps enough to help slow the fires.
Walter is up at the front corner. He won’t stop barking. He sounds like he has a purpose and he won’t come when I call him. I wonder if something is eating the deer carcass up against the neighbor’s fence?
