Camp Chef Compact Fire Ring

The Adventurer, Vernon Wade

Vernon was born in the Pacific Northwest and still lives in the shadow of Mt. Hood, near the small town where he grew up. Vernon has spent decades wandering the hills, hunting mushrooms, camping and riding motorcycles into the remotest nooks and crannies to be found in the region.

I have had this Camp Chef propane fire pit for several years now. I use it when fire season bans prohibit traditional wood campfires.

When I  hooked it up last week the regulator was leaking gas, so I  ordered a new hose and regulator.  I took the opportunity to install a longer hose; the original is 5′ and the new one is 12′ long.

Replacement was as simple as unbolting the old hose at the fire ring and bolting the new one on. I checked both ends for leaks with soapy water and lit it up for a test run. Good to go.
