Andy bought one of these little pumps for his Thermarest pad a while ago. I laughed at him for buying another unnecessary gadget. Until I got a huge self-inflating sleep pad from Sportsman’s Guide. It is supposed to be self-inflating and it kinda is, but deflating it enough to get it back in the bag is almost impossible to do by hand. With this little pump inflating it is a breeze and deflating it to pack is at least manageable. I ended up buying one for myself. A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.

FLEXTAIL Tiny Pump x 2024 Size1.57*1.73*2.1 inches (40*44*54mm) Weight1.66oz (45±2 g) Battery Capacity 2.96Wh 800mAh. It is powered by a rechargeable battery and has a manufacturer warranty of 2 years.

The Mini Pump x 2024 comes with a storage bag, USB charging cable and adapters for inflating or deflating sleeping pads, air mattresses, swim-rings and storage bags.

The Mini Pump x 2024 has a camp light feature with three settings: 200 lumens / 100 lumens / 20 lumens and they claim illumination can last up to 22 hours. The same button that activates the pump turns on the light, you just press the button longer.

The FLEXTAIL Mini Pump x 2024 has a Type C USB charging port. A red light indicates low charge, a green light indicates full charge and a bright red light is illuminated while charging.

To use the FLEXTAIL Tiny Pump x 2024 for inflation attach to your mattress or sleep pad with the appropriate nozzles, using the small spigot on the side of the pump and press the on button.

To use the Tiny Pump for deflation attach the appropriate adapter nozzle to the large spigot on the bottom of the pump. In my opinion, this is where the FLEXTAIL earns its keep. It will suck that sleeping pad flat in no time, making it a cinch to roll it up and pack.

Just as an aside, if you are tempted by the smoking deals on military surplus Thermarest sleep pads, just don’t.
I think I paid $25 for mine. It came without a stuff sack or a patch kit, but it did come with a leak. Reading reviews suggest this is pretty common. I patched it but discovered it is unnecessarily long, very narrow, and so thin as to be useless weight. Not worth the money.
