Good Afternoon

The Adventurer, Vernon Wade

Vernon was born in the Pacific Northwest and still lives in the shadow of Mt. Hood, near the small town where he grew up. Vernon has spent decades wandering the hills, hunting mushrooms, camping and riding motorcycles into the remotest nooks and crannies to be found in the region.

7/1/25 2:00 91f (32.7c) Sunny, hot, and windless.  Walter, Mike and I went up into the Gifford Pinchot to seek relief from the hot weather in the tall trees.  We did a couple of short walks (no mushrooms,  no surprise), then sat down had a whiskey and dozed in our camp chairs.

Walter Dawg  inspected some chainsaw vandalism behind the camp. An inept attempt to fell a perfectly good, live tree left it hanging against another tree like a giant deadfall trap in the woods. I suspect  some incompetent  YouTube boob got a new chainsaw.
