Dark and clear this morning. The stars are still out.
It was quiet. A prop plane churned by.
Then the dog across the street heard something. His barking set off Walter who is now protecting our perimeter, loudly challenging all intruders, real and imagined.
I plan to spend some time this morning cleaning guns. I went out with Cliff shooting boomsticks yesterday. We had a good time and my new flintlock worked perfectly, as did the revolver Pete gave me for my birthday.
Mike was supposed to join us, but he didn’t find us, despite the noise.
Cliff and I packed up and went in search of mushrooms. We found Mike instead. And Mike had found mushrooms so we kindled a fire and had bacon wrapped chanterelles.
