Good Morning

The Writer, Vernon Wade

Vernon Wade is a poet, author and freelancer. He has been published in The Gorge Literary Journal, Dualsport Rider Magazine, Hack’d Magazine, The Sidecarist, ROB Magazine and The Hood River News.

The world fills him with wonder.  When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

2/9/26 6:30 36F (2.2C) Cool, clear, and calm.

It has stopped raining leaving a sprinkle of mist behind.

But for a few clouds low in the southeast,  the sky is clear.

The moon, just past half and waning into the last quarter,  is shining brightly down the canyon.

Birds twitter and chirp. A flight of ducks chuckles past.

Hanging  from the tips of the lodgepoles, red ribbons flutter in the faint morning breeze.

Good morning.
