The world fills him with wonder. When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

As light seeped into the gloom birds began to wake. I eaves-dropped on their muted melodic conversations.
A pair of ducks rose from the pond hidden in the weeds and briars across the fence, complaining to each other as they flew overhead.
