Good Morning

The Writer, Vernon Wade

Vernon Wade is a poet, author and freelancer. He has been published in The Gorge Literary Journal, Dualsport Rider Magazine, Hack’d Magazine, The Sidecarist, ROB Magazine and The Hood River News.

The world fills him with wonder.  When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

2/22/26 7:00 33F (0.5C) A calm Sunday morning  with partial clouds and a slight breeze.

The sky rapidly transitioned from blue to lavender with clouds shifting through grays and pinks, briefly bursting into flaming yellow before settling into grey and wisps of white against a pale blue backdrop.

Birds are chirping. Their trills and whistles are punctuated by Walter’s barking.

A few skiffs of snow and patches of ice are all that remain of yesterday’s flurries.

More snow is predicted but it seems unlikely at this moment.
