The world fills him with wonder. When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

It is a gray, windless morning.
Walter is barking at an early dog walker.
There is a squirrel chattering full scold in the oaks.
Robins and jay’s flit about. A flock of small birds is eating the blossoms off the pussy willow.
I’m expecting to get some rabbits later today. I suppose I should stop dawdling and get the cages prepped.
