The world fills him with wonder. When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

The waning half moon hangs in a patch of blue, low in the south, behind the birches.
Walter is having a spirited conversation with the dog across the street. A dog up the canyon offered a dissenting opinion which hasn’t been well received.
