Good Morning

The Writer, Vernon Wade

Vernon Wade is a poet, author and freelancer. He has been published in The Gorge Literary Journal, Dualsport Rider Magazine, Hack’d Magazine, The Sidecarist, ROB Magazine and The Hood River News.

The world fills him with wonder.  When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

4/6/26 5:45 45F (7.2C) Warm and calm.

The moon wanes gibbous, low in the south and at the end of its transit above the canyon.

Spring is near bursting this morning, tumescent with biological imperative.

The predawn dark is filled with trills and whistles.

Frogs croak with enthusiasm.

A sapsucker drums on an aluminum ladder, ringing out a rapid tattoo of wishful thinking.

A tom turkey runs through the trees gobbling with unrequited lust.

I wish them all luck.

Good morning.
