Another beautiful blue sky day. The dog is baying at the neighbors  and a cherry cannon is booming somewhere over by Middle Mountain.

I am drinking ice tea this morning.

The power winked off at 5:59. Not unexpected; we had at least three phone calls over the past week, warning us of the outage.

They were re-energizing the Pine Grove substation which was knocked out by a lightning strike back on the  fourth.

Still, it is startling to be plunged into darkness whilst sitting on the toilet.

The power is back on now. It wasn’t out long enough for the hot tub to cool much, so there’s that.
