Good Morning

The Writer, Vernon Wade

Vernon Wade is a poet, author and freelancer. He has been published in The Gorge Literary Journal, Dualsport Rider Magazine, Hack’d Magazine, The Sidecarist, ROB Magazine and The Hood River News.

The world fills him with wonder.  When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

6/17/26 5:30 53F (11.6C) Calm.  The sky is still dull blue, waiting for the spark of sunlight to appear.

With luck, the rabbits should begin nesting. I have been working on the hutch, pulling the arbor back upright and bracing it in place, but I need to build new cages.

The gardens are doing well.  Amy is hardening off the last of her seedlings. My corn and pumpkins are thriving. The beans have sprouted. I still need to put some celeriac in the ground.

It was dead calm when I came out. Now a slight breeze is freshening.  I drink my tea and watch the birch leaves flutter.

Listen to the birds sing.

Good morning.
