The world fills him with wonder. When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

A jay squawks. Walter barks. The rooster crows. A gust sighs through the oaks.
Momentary interruptions in the still of morning. It is a relatively quiet Wednesday this first day of July.
Laundry hangs on the line. Camp dishes need scrubbing and camping gear has yet to be squared away and stowed.
The yellow morning sun lights up the trees along Neal Creek Road.
Have another sip of tea.
