The world fills him with wonder. When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.
7/10/26 5:45 58F (14.4C) I woke with the sun rising from behind Nan’s Rock. It is warm enough to wander half naked to the latrine without discomfort.
Walter stuck his nose under the head of Robert’s bunk and snored all night.
Scott has two tipis set up. We are camped in the larger one and have set up our kitchen in the small one.
We had a late breakfast; bacon and pancakes with an egg fried inside and the whole thing slathered with syrup.
