Calm, clear. The moon, just past full, floats behind the birches.

A half-hour later the moon has set and the sky has brightened. There is a slight haze and a tinge of pink around the edges.

Yesterday I bought a mower at a yard sale and finally got the weeds out back knocked down.

I will find out if I put the sprinkler back in the right place a few minutes from now. I hope it doesn’t spray me in the face.

Close. It doesn’t quite reach the mint, but it makes the three sisters wet and doesn’t spray the hot tub.
