Good Morning

The Writer, Vernon Wade

Vernon Wade is a poet, author and freelancer. He has been published in The Gorge Literary Journal, Dualsport Rider Magazine, Hack’d Magazine, The Sidecarist, ROB Magazine and The Hood River News.

The world fills him with wonder.  When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

10/2/26 7:30 48F (8.8C) AQI 14  Clear, blue sky; cool, with no breeze.

Birds twitter. The dog’s barking is more of a grumbling complaint than any sort of challenge.  The faint replies from dogs farther up the canyon seem to echo his discontent.

Yesterday I made a stockpot full of chicken broth and froze it in 2 cup portions. I have been cooking mushroom dishes all week and freezing them for later. Mike and I had moussaka for dinner the other night. I’ve made a mess.

Amy will be home in a few days.  I suppose I should clean the kitchen.  I probably should mop the floor.  Hell, I probably should mop the ceiling.

In a minute.

Good morning.
