Good Morning

The Writer, Vernon Wade

Vernon Wade is a poet, author and freelancer. He has been published in The Gorge Literary Journal, Dualsport Rider Magazine, Hack’d Magazine, The Sidecarist, ROB Magazine and The Hood River News.

The world fills him with wonder.  When he looks at the sky he is lifted into flights of fancy, when he stares at the earth he is drawn beneath its surface. He is delighted to find the macrocosm and the microcosm equally mesmerizing.

8/5/25 5:45 56 (13.3) Red sky in morning? Mostly clear, no wind.

I’m still sick. I was up late binge watching Alone Australia. So far,  season 3 is an improvement.  I think I will go back to bed.

The extra sleep did me good, but I feel  like I  am getting  behind  schedule. I wanted to have the deck painted by now, but it required way more prep work than I had hoped and I don’t have the stamina. Bending over with the belt sander drains the snot to my head and starts me coughing. After about 45 minutes  I am wrecked.

I think I  have most of the loose paint off of the section at the sliding door.  If it’s not too hot when I  get out, I can sweep and paint that.

I’m going to take a covid test when I  am done with my soak. Presuming it is negative I can go get groceries and more paint.

For now,  I  shall sip my tea and steep in a dilute solution of warm bleach.
