I fashioned a skid plate from a sheet of steel diamond plate and welded it to the sidecar chassis. This prevents the sidecar from hanging up when bouncing over logs and rocks, gives the passenger a little more protection and provides a place to tie loads when I have the tub off. It also stiffens up the chassis a bit. I painted it with black Rhino Liner. The rubber paint deadens the noise and keeps it from ringing like a bell when pelted with gravel running over the back roads.
