Good Afternoon

The Adventurer, Vernon Wade

Vernon was born in the Pacific Northwest and still lives in the shadow of Mt. Hood, near the small town where he grew up. Vernon has spent decades wandering the hills, hunting mushrooms, camping and riding motorcycles into the remotest nooks and crannies to be found in the region.

It was shirtsleeve weather and sunny in town, pretty mild for the second day of spring. Mike and I decided to go look for snow. We found it at 3000′ in the Gifford Pinchot. There was no snow below that level and ice flows covering the road above that.

Satisfied, we dropped back down to 1900′, struck a spark and made a fire and picnicked on toasted bagels with cream cheese, assorted snackage and hot chocolate laced with rum. After lunch we took a wander through the woods and found a few mushrooms. A good time was had by all.
